lieutenant-stitchieLt. Stitchie is set to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Chicago Music Awards CMA/ IRAWMA. Stitchie has been in the reggae industry for thirty five years and his recordings can be dated back to the early eighties.

He will be receiving a Lifetime Award for his consistent and outstanding contributions to the development and growth of Reggae and Dancehall Music globally.

The Governor was the 1st reggae artist to hit the Billboard charts and also the first to bring reggae music to Germany. He was also nominated for the best gospel entertainer in 2016 and 2017.

Lt. Stitchie will be closing the star-studded lineup of International Artistes, which will be broadcasted on NBC TV, 30 days after the Live event. It’s highly anticipated to be an electrifying performance, as the Governor has been well known to deliver over the years.

Lt. Stitchie’s label, Drum & Bass Music, released his brand new music video, “Truth Be Told” on his YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/ltstitchie1 the Dancehall Governor, “Man A Pastor”.

The ceremony and stage show is set for Sunday March 18, 2018 at the Logan Center Of The Arts at the University Of Chicago.

A GALAXY OF DIVERSE & MULTI-CULTURAL ENTERTAINERS TO ROCK 37TH CHICAGO MUSIC AWARDS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 36TH INT’L REGGAE & WORLD MUSIC AWARDS (IRAWMA), SUNDAY MARCH 18th AT LOGAN CENTER FOR THE ARTS!

This is the biggest music night in Chicago; The red carpet is being rolled out for the 37th annual Chicago Music Awards, which this year is combined with the 36th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Logan Center for the Arts – University of Chicago, Hyde Park, Chicago.

Performing are the African soukou Entertainers, Chi-Lites Marshall Thompson, reggae star LT. Stitchie, premier rock star Lever, veteran blues singer Nellie “Tiger” Travis, r&b star Terisa Griffin, Asian/Indian world music star Sara Ranganathan and country western Suburban Cowboys.

Top-One Frisson and the Jamaican dub poem of Richie Innocent,  the Soul of Maurice Mahon and the ballroom dance of 94 years old Doris Humphries, musicians will reflect the finest and liveliest of the music adored in Chicago.

The Awards celebration will be post televised on a major network TV in April.

Others among the rich multicultural and most diverse lineup of performing talents include Hurricane Band (Reggae & Caribbean), The Polkaholics (European/Polka), Tamarie T & The Elektra Kumpany (Funk), BLAQ ICE (Spoken Love), K’Coneil (Reggae/Pop), God’s Posse (Gospel), Phenom (Hip Hop), Jennifer Zhang (Asian/Chinese) and others.

Emcees are Art Norman, NBC 5 Chicago, English pop/r&b singer Babs Savage, performing also, and Bluesman Frank Pellegrino. DJ Matches and Jasmine Aaron, flute musician, will entertain the VIP Reception.
